  • 3 cups self-rising flour Make sure to use self-rising flour for best results.
  • 1 can (12 oz) beer You can use any type of beer you like.

Preparation

  • Mix the flour and beer in a bowl until just combined. It’s okay if there are lumps!
  • Grease your slow cooker or line it with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Transfer the dough into the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the bread is firm to the touch.
  • Let the bread cool before slicing. This makes for cleaner cuts.

Notes

You can serve this bread warm or at room temperature. It’s perfect on its own or with butter and jam. For a crustier top, finish the bread in the oven after slow cooking.
