  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream Adds richness to the egg wash.

For the Breading

  • 1 cup almond flour Gluten-free option for crunch and nutty flavor.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Provides cheesy goodness.
  • spices of your choice Garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper recommended.

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces chicken (drumsticks, thighs, or breasts) Bone-in pieces yield the juiciest results.
  • fresh herbs like rosemary Optional but enhances the aroma and taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  • Whisk together the eggs and heavy cream in a bowl for the egg wash.
  • In a separate bowl, combine almond flour and grated Parmesan cheese with chosen spices.

Coating the Chicken

  • Dip chicken pieces into the egg wash, coating thoroughly.
  • Transfer coated chicken to the breading mixture, ensuring each piece is well coated.

Cooking

  • Arrange the coated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook the chicken for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  • Check for doneness with a meat thermometer, ensuring it reaches 165°F.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispy skin, lightly spray the chicken with olive oil before cooking. Letting the coated chicken sit for 30 minutes can help the breading stick better. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
