Ingredients
  

For the Apple Bread

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Fresh apples (peeled and diced) Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.

For the Streusel Topping

  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar For streusel
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon For streusel
  • 1/4 cup Flour For streusel
  • 1/4 cup Cold butter For streusel

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract For glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease your loaf pan with a little butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples.
  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and flour for the streusel. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
  • Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle half of the streusel mixture on top. Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining streusel.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  • To make the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
  • Once cooled, drizzle the glaze over the bread.

Notes

Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. Reheat slices in the microwave for a few seconds to enjoy warmth.
