Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Whole milk, warmed Make sure it's warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg

Filling Ingredients

  • 2 cups Apples, peeled and diced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Can add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted (for filling)

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp Milk Adjust for desired consistency.
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Prepare your workspace by ensuring you have a clean surface for kneading and a cozy kitchen atmosphere.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  • Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm location for about an hour.

Filling and Assembly

  • While the dough rises, prepare the filling by mixing diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Brush melted butter over the rolled dough, then spread the apple mixture evenly on top.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and pinch the edges to seal, then slice into 1 1/2-inch pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover them with a towel, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to create the glaze.
  • Once the rolls are cool, drizzle the glaze over them for a sweet finish.

Notes

Serve these rolls with a cup of coffee or tea, or alongside vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
