Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 3 cups Apples, peeled and sliced Use a combination of sweet and tart apples for balanced flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Sugar Adjust according to apple sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Add nutmeg or allspice for additional flavor.

Pastry

  • 1 package Puff pastry Can use frozen puff pastry; thaw according to package instructions.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted For brushing the pastry.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven according to puff pastry package instructions.
  • Peel and slice apples, then toss them with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and seal.
  • Place on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.

Baking

  • Bake according to pastry instructions until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within a few days.
