Brown Butter Glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a 10x15-inch baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the granulated sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs until smooth.
  • Add in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bars cool slightly in the pan before adding the glaze.

Glazing

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until golden brown with a nutty aroma (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  • Pour and spread the glaze over the warm banana bars.
  • Let the glaze set before cutting into squares.

Notes
