Ingredients

Banana Nut Bread Ingredients

  • 3 pieces Ripe Bananas Make sure they are brown and soft for the best sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup Melted Butter Warm melted butter enhances flavor and moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Leavening agent for the bread.
  • 1 pinch Salt Balances the sweetness of the bread.
  • 3/4 cup Sugar Can be adjusted based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Adds delicious aroma.
  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour Can use gluten-free flour as a substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts (optional) Adds crunch; can substitute with other nuts or chocolate chips.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in melted butter until well combined.
  • Add baking soda and a pinch of salt, and mix well.
  • Incorporate the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract and stir until combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until just combined.
  • If using, fold in the chopped walnuts.
  • Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes.
  • Check for doneness by pressing the top; if it springs back, it’s ready. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.

Cooling

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use truly ripe bananas for the best results. Don't overmix the batter to ensure the bread stays tender. Serve warm or store leftovers wrapped in plastic or in an airtight container for up to three days.
