Ingredients
  

For the shrimp

  • 1 pound Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) As needed

For the sauce

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce Adjust to taste

For serving

  • Cooked rice or Chinese noodles

Instructions
 

Marinating the Shrimp

  • Marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for about 30 minutes.

Preparing the Breading

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Set out panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.

Dredging the Shrimp

  • Coat each marinated shrimp in the flour mixture, shake off excess, dip back in buttermilk, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.

Frying the Shrimp

  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the breaded shrimp in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Preparing the Bang Bang Sauce

  • In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha sauce.

Tossing the Shrimp in Sauce

  • Remove fried shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels, then toss in the Bang Bang sauce while warm.

Serving

  • Serve Bang Bang Shrimp over rice or Chinese noodles, and garnish with chopped fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For perfect results, ensure oil is hot before frying. Marinate with Old Bay seasoning or lemon juice for extra flavor if desired. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
