  • 2 cups cooked rice Best with leftover rice; cold rice is perfect for frying.
  • 1 lb marinated steak, thinly sliced Lean cuts like flank or sirloin work best.
  • 2 eggs, beaten Adds texture and richness.
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables Use a mix of peas, carrots, and bell peppers.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Essential for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons ginger sauce Adds a zesty kick.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Use oil with a high smoke point.
  • Salt and pepper to taste For final seasoning.
  • Green onions for garnish (optional) Adds freshness.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add marinated steak slices to the skillet and cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
  • Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, toss in the mixed vegetables and sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender.
  • Push veggies to one side and scramble the beaten eggs on the other side until just set.
  • Combine cooked steak and rice in the skillet, breaking up clumps of rice.
  • Drizzle soy sauce and ginger sauce over the mixture, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir everything together and heat through; remove from heat.
  • Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Use day-old rice for better texture. Marinate meat in advance if possible for enhanced flavor. Leftover dish can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
