  • 1 lb beef liver Rinsed and sliced
  • 2 large onions, sliced Sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter For cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season the liver
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) For added flavor
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the beef liver under cold water and pat dry. Slice into thin pieces.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  • Push the onions to the side of the skillet, and add the liver slices. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cook the liver for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve the liver topped with the caramelized onions and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can season the liver with herbs like thyme or rosemary. If you prefer a milder taste, soak the liver in milk for an hour before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
