  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce For marinade
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch For marinade
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper For marinade
  • Salt to taste Salt Use in marinade

For the Vegetables

  • 2 Bell peppers (red and green) Sliced
  • 1 Onion Sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil For cooking

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice the beef steak into thin strips.
  • In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and a pinch of salt to create the marinade.
  • Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it soak for 15 to 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated steak strips to the skillet in a single layer. Allow them to brown without moving them around.
  • Once the beef is browned, remove it from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Sauté until translucent.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers and cook until tender.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the veggies and stir to combine. Cook for a few more minutes.
  • Serve the pepper steak hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Cut the beef thinly for better cooking. Don’t skip the marinade, and ensure high-heat cooking for caramelization.
