Ingredients
  

For the cake

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour Use a spoon to measure for accuracy.
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar Can use light or dark brown sugar.
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (softened) Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 2 large Large eggs Best at room temperature.
  • 0.5 cups Milk Room temperature for better mixing.
  • 2 cups Fresh blueberries Frozen blueberries can be used if thawed.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Pure vanilla for best flavor.
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Ground cinnamon

For the topping

  • 0.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cups Oats Old-fashioned oats recommended.
  • 0.25 cups Cold butter (cubed) Must be cold for a crumbly topping.
  • 0.5 tsp Ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

Mixing the Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the topping ingredients until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the topping over the cake batter.
  • Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for the best results, and don't skip the topping for that extra crunch! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
