Ingredients
  

Bread Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat or rye flour for different taste
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp) Make sure yeast is fresh
  • 1 cup warm water Water should be about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons sugar To feed the yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be substituted with other oils

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil into the bag. Seal it and knead the bag until the ingredients are combined and a dough forms.
  • Let the bag sit in a warm place for about an hour, or until the dough doubles in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Remove the dough from the bag, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before slicing. Enjoy your homemade bread!

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature with butter, jam, or as a side with soups or salads. For storage, wrap tightly in plastic or foil and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze slices for longer storage. Experiment with flavors by adding herbs or different ingredients.
