  • 2/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup salted sunflower seeds Consider toasting lightly for extra crunch.
  • 1/3 cup red onion

Dressing Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup mayo Can substitute with low-fat mayo.
  • 1/4 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, cheddar cheese, dried cranberries, crumbled bacon, sunflower seeds, and red onion.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayo, sour cream, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss gently until everything is well coated.
  • You can serve it right away, but for the best flavors, refrigerate it for at least one hour before serving.
  • Make sure to toss the salad again before serving.

Notes

This salad can be customized by adding chopped apples, nuts, or jalapeños. Always stir well before serving leftovers.
