Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil Can substitute with melted butter.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Optional, adds gooey pockets of chocolate.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease your loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients: cocoa powder, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Whisk together.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir gently, ensuring not to over-mix.
  • If using, gently fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Once done, let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Serving

  • Slice and serve as desired, optionally with butter, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Don’t over-mix the batter; it’s okay to leave a few lumps. Consider sprinkling chocolate chips on top before baking.
