  • 4 slices Sliced cheese (Swiss or American) Feel free to use cheddar based on preference.
  • 1 cup Sautéed onions Use yellow onions for their sweetness.

  • 2 tablespoons Butter (for cooking)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  • Slice your onions and sauté them in a tablespoon of butter until they turn golden brown and caramelized (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Shape the ground beef into four patties, seasoning them with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Move the caramelized onions to the side and add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet.
  • Cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes on one side until nicely browned.
  • Flip the patties, place a slice of cheese on each, and cover the skillet for about a minute to melt the cheese.

Assembly

  • Place each patty on a plate, top with sautéed onions, and add any optional toppings you desire.
  • Serve hot from the skillet.

Notes

For perfect results, avoid overcrowding the skillet, and ensure beef is at room temperature before cooking. Don’t skip the caramelized onions for added flavor.
