Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Salmon fillets (about 6 oz each) Opt for wild-caught salmon for best flavor.
  • 8 large Shrimp, peeled and deveined Use large shrimp for a more filling bite.
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Homemade or store-bought seasoning can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced Add at the end to avoid burning.
  • 1 piece Juice of lemon Adds brightness to the dish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish Brings color and freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by making your Cajun seasoning if you don’t have any on hand. Mix paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and a touch of thyme.
  • Pat the salmon fillets and shrimp dry with a paper towel.
  • Generously rub the Cajun seasoning over both the salmon and shrimp.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Gently flip the salmon fillets and cook for another 4-5 minutes until cooked through.
  • Move the salmon to one side and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet during the last minute of cooking.
  • Squeeze lemon juice over the fish and shrimp, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the Cajun Salmon and Shrimp to a serving platter and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve with fluffy rice, creamy mashed potatoes, or a light salad for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
