Pasta and Shrimp

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta Has the right texture to hold onto the creamy sauce.
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp are key for the flavor.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Adds richness and helps to sauté the shrimp.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Essential for aroma.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Elevates the dish's creaminess.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Adds cheesy goodness.
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning Brings a lovely kick.
  • to taste none salt and pepper Essential for enhancing flavors.
  • none none Chopped parsley for garnish Adds a fresh finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a bit of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Reduce heat slightly and pour in heavy cream. Stir in Parmesan cheese and Cajun seasoning. Mix until cheese melts and sauce is creamy.
  • Combine cooked fettuccine with shrimp and sauce, tossing gently. Add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

A squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving brightens the flavors. Pair with a fresh green salad or garlic bread.
