Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Thin spaghetti, broken into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 pint Cherry tomatoes, chopped in half
  • 2 medium Zucchini, diced
  • 1 large Cucumber, diced
  • 1 medium Green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 Red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 large Red onion, diced
  • 2 cans (2-1/4 ounces each) Ripe olives, sliced and drained

Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (16 ounces) Italian salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder

Instructions

Cooking the Pasta

  • Start by boiling a large pot of water. Once it comes to a rolling boil, add your broken spaghetti. Cook according to the package directions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Don’t forget to stir occasionally!

Draining and Rinsing

  • Once the pasta is cooked, drain it using a colander. Rinse the pasta under cold water to stop the cooking process and keep your spaghetti from becoming mushy.

Preparing the Vegetables

  • While the pasta is cooling, chop the cherry tomatoes, dice the zucchini and cucumber, and slice the bell peppers and onion.

Combining Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooled spaghetti with all your chopped vegetables and sliced olives. Gently stir with a spatula.

Making the Dressing

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Italian salad dressing, grated Parmesan cheese, sesame seeds, paprika, celery seed, and garlic powder.

Tossing the Salad

  • Pour the dressing over the salad mixture. Toss everything gently until all the ingredients are nicely coated.

Chilling the Salad

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 3 hours, or even better, overnight.

Serving

  • When ready to serve, give the salad a good stir, taste, and adjust any seasoning if needed.

Notes

Adding fresh herbs like basil or parsley right before serving enhances flavor and presentation. You can also add feta cheese for a tangy twist.
