  • 1 box Yellow cake mix
  • 1 can Apple pie filling (21 oz)
  • 1 cup Caramel sauce Feel free to use more for extra sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted Evenly drizzle over cake mix.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Adds warmth to the dessert.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped pecans Optional for added crunch.
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional) Serve warm with a scoop on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple filling.
  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apple and caramel layers.
  • Melt the butter and drizzle it evenly over the cake mix.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.
  • Optionally, add chopped pecans on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
  • Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce.

Notes

Don’t skip the butter for a crispy topping! Feel free to substitute yellow cake mix with spice or chocolate cake mix for variation. Use fresh apples instead of canned if desired, tossing them in sugar and cinnamon first.
