Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef The star of the show, adds hearty texture and flavor.
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese Creamy and slightly sweet, perfect for stuffing.
  • 1 egg egg Helps bind the ricotta mixture together.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning Gives a classic Italian vibe.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a finishing touch to the cheese blend.

For the Assembly

  • 2 cups marinara sauce Brings depth of flavor and moisture.
  • 12 pieces jumbo pasta shells Perfect for holding the filling.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Adds a creamy texture when melted.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper Essential for flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Mix the marinara sauce into the cooked beef and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.

Assembly

  • Spread half of the meat sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Stuff each jumbo pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  • Pour the remaining meat sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped fresh parsley and serving.

Notes

For a veggie boost, add sautéed spinach or mushrooms into the ricotta mixture. Always taste the meat sauce before pouring it over the shells and adjust seasoning as necessary. Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before baking for added texture.
