Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (1 oz)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

Optional Toppings

  • sour cream
  • salsa
  • lettuce

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked.
  • Drain any excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Preparing the Burritos

  • Warm the flour tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
  • Spoon the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla, sprinkle with shredded cheese, and fold the sides over to make a burrito.
  • Place the burritos seam-side down in a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until heated through and the cheese is melted.

Notes

You can prepare the beef mixture and fill the tortillas ahead of time. Store in the fridge and bake when ready to eat. For vegetarian burritos, swap out ground beef for black beans, corn, and bell peppers.
