  • 2 Eggs Fresh eggs for a delicious topping.
  • 1/2 cup Diced Ham Cooked ham, diced for easy topping.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar or your choice) Use any melty cheese like cheddar or pepper jack.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • Butter or Oil for cooking As needed for greasing the skillet.

Preparation

  • Toast the slices of bread until golden and crispy, using a toaster or broiler.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter or oil.

Cooking

  • Add diced ham to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Crack the eggs gently into the skillet over the ham.
  • Season the eggs with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the eggs to your desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Assemble the toast by placing the ham and eggs on top of the toasted bread.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the eggs and allow it to melt, or broil for gooey texture.
  • Serve and sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For extra crispy bread, spread a thin layer of butter on the outside before toasting. You can also add fresh herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
