Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, sliced 1/8-inch thick
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter for sautéing
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in cream and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a buttered baking dish, layer half the potatoes, half the cheese, and half of the cream mixture. Repeat the layers.
  • Sprinkle paprika on top.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot as a side dish with roasted meats, grilled chicken, or a salad. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven.
