Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or pasta of your choice Any pasta like penne, rotini, or gluten-free options can be used.
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth Can add more if sauce seems too thick.
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with pepper jack or mix different cheeses.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cooking the Pasta

  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain it and set it aside.

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet or pan, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent.

Making the Sauce

  • Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), beef broth, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring everything to a simmer.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it to coat with the sauce.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts and is well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm it up in the microwave or heat it in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of beef broth if it seems dry. For a spicier kick, add hot sauce or diced jalapeños. Mixing in cream cheese before serving will make it creamier.
