Main ingredients

  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, sliced Fresh chicken breasts
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles Cook according to package instructions
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced Any color bell pepper can be used
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Fresh broccoli for best flavor
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned Fresh carrots
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Adds depth of flavor
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce For sweetness
  • Salt and pepper to taste To season

Preparation

  • Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add garlic and vegetables to the pan and stir-fry for another 5 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in the cooked noodles and add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce. Toss everything together until well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

Chicken Chow Mein is best served hot right after cooking, optionally with extra soy sauce or chili sauce on the side. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
