Coating and sauce

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs These will give the chicken that beautiful crispy coating.
  • 2 pieces eggs A binding agent for your breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 cup flour Key for that initial dredging.
  • 1/2 cup mustard A wonderful tangy sauce that complements the dish beautifully.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese Because everything's better with cheese!

Seasoning

  • to taste Salt and pepper Just a pinch for seasoning.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  • Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  • Roll up the chicken breasts tightly and secure them with toothpicks.

Dredging and Baking

  • Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.
  • Dredge the chicken rolls in the flour, shaking off excess.
  • Dip in the beaten eggs, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Roll the chicken in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently.
  • Place the coated chicken rolls in a baking dish and drizzle with mustard and Parmesan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice the chicken rolls in half to reveal the cheesy center. Serve with your chosen sides.

Notes

For an extra crispy coating, toast the breadcrumbs in the oven before use. Don’t be shy with seasoning to elevate flavors. Experiment with different cheeses for a twist.
