Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to add nuts or other candies for more texture.

For the Brownies

  • 1 box brownie mix Ingredients for brownie mix as directed on the box.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the flour and vanilla extract until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll the cookie dough into small balls and freeze them for about 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions.
  • Preheat the oven as directed.

Assembling

  • In a greased muffin tin or brownie pan, pour a layer of brownie batter.
  • Place a frozen cookie dough ball in the center and cover it with more brownie batter.

Baking

  • Bake according to the brownie mix package instructions or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before removing from the pan.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or dusted with powdered sugar for a beautiful presentation. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, refrigerated for longer shelf life, or frozen for up to three months.
