  • 1 box Saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Essential for controlling the saltiness
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips You can use white or dark chocolate if desired
  • Sprinkles or chopped nuts (optional, as desired)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat while stirring constantly until it bubbles.
  • Once it boils, let it bubble for 3-4 minutes without stirring until it turns golden brown.
  • Quickly pour the warm toffee mixture over the arranged crackers.
  • Bake for about 5-7 minutes until bubbly and caramelized.
  • Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread evenly.
  • Add sprinkles or chopped nuts if desired.

Finishing

  • Allow the candy to cool completely at room temperature before breaking into pieces.
  • Enjoy and share with family and friends.

Notes

For perfect results, keep an eye on the toffee while boiling to avoid burning, let the chocolate cool completely before cutting, and feel free to get creative with toppings.
