  • 1 sleeve Crackers (saltine or Ritz) Use either saltine or Ritz crackers.
  • 1 cup Butter 2 sticks of butter.
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or your favorite) Feel free to use your favorite type of chocolate.

Optional toppings

  • 1/2 cup Sprinkles Options for decoration.
  • 1/2 cup Pecans (chopped) Optional for added crunch.
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts (chopped) Optional for added crunch.
  • 1/2 cup Toasted coconut Optional for flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Pretzels Optional for a sweet and salty combo.
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms Optional for color and fun.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of butter and add 1 cup of brown sugar. Stir until it reaches a gentle boil.
  • Carefully pour the boiling toffee over the arranged crackers.
  • Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips over the hot crackers and let them melt before spreading with a spatula.
  • While the chocolate is still warm, add your choice of toppings.
  • Allow the candy to cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  • Once cooled, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
