Preparation

  • Rinse the mixed greens thoroughly under cold water and drain well.
  • Gather all your other ingredients and lay them out on your countertop.
  • Slice the red onion thinly. Soak in cold water for 10 minutes for a milder flavor if desired.
  • Toast the chopped walnuts in a small pan over medium heat until fragrant and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Assembly

  • In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens, dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, and crumbled feta cheese.
  • Add the sliced red onion among the other ingredients.
  • Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to combine.
  • Serve immediately to keep the greens crisp.
