Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/4 cup additional sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon For topping

Preparation and Mixing

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle it over the top of the batter.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, measure ingredients accurately and avoid overmixing the batter. You can substitute brown sugar for a richer flavor or add nuts or chocolate chips for texture.
