  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Elevates the flavors.

  • Egg noodles or rice, for serving Perfect bases to soak up the sauce.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the beef strips and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic for about 2-3 minutes until soft.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 4-5 minutes until tender.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well, cooking for about a minute.
  • Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps, letting the mixture thicken.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet, adding Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, being careful not to boil.
  • Serve over egg noodles or rice, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use good quality beef and taste as you go for adjustments. To thin sauce, add beef broth as needed. Consider adding paprika or wine for flavor.
