Copycat Pizza Hut Breadsticks

Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water Warm but not hot to activate yeast properly.
  • 2 1/2 cups flour All-purpose flour.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Toppings

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp butter Melted, for brushing.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  • Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, the yeast mixture, and olive oil to the bowl. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it is smooth.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place or until it doubles in size.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and cut it into strips. Place the strips on a greased baking sheet.
  • Brush the dough with melted butter, then sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

To store leftover breadsticks, place them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze them after cooling in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Brush with additional melted butter right after baking for a richer taste.
