Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened Use full-fat for richer flavor.
  • 6 oz Cooked crab meat Can use fresh or canned, well-drained.
  • 2 scallions Green onions, chopped Add freshness and color.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper To taste.

For Frying

  • 1 package Wonton wrappers Heart of the dish for crispy texture.
  • 4 cups Oil For frying wontons.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cooked crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Lay wonton wrappers on a clean surface and have a small bowl of water handy.
  • Place a spoonful of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it over to create a triangle, pressing out as much air as possible.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large pot or deep fryer to about 350°F.
  • Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, frying them until they are golden brown, around 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve warm, accompanied by sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra crispy wontons, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying. You can also bake them at 375°F for a healthier version.
