Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté for about 5 minutes until onions are translucent.

Cooking

  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 7 to 10 minutes until they are soft and their juices are released.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add marjoram and thyme, along with salt and pepper; simmer for another 15 minutes.
  • Blend the soup until smooth using an immersion blender or regular blender.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sautéed mushrooms or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For perfect results, sauté mushrooms until browned and let the soup simmer long enough to develop flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge; reheat gently and adjust consistency with broth or cream if needed.
