  • 4 tablespoons butter Melted in a skillet.
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour Use for thickening the mixture.
  • 2 cups milk Add gradually while whisking.

Preparation

  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped dried beef and cook until heated through.
  • Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over toasted bread.

Notes

Serve hot and consider adding a sprinkle of paprika or chopped parsley on top for extra flavor. This dish pairs well with eggs for a complete breakfast. If you have leftovers, let the dish cool, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days, and reheat with a splash of milk to loosen.
