For the Sauce

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup This is what makes our sauce creamy and dreamy!
  • 1 cup beef broth Enhances flavor and helps in making the sauce silky.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For that luscious creaminess—no substitutions here!
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil Adds a lovely fragrance that elevates the dish.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Brings a warm, earthy flavor perfect in Italian-inspired dishes.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential to make the flavors pop.

For the Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or your favorite shape) Penne is preferred as the sauce collects in every little tube.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a nutty, savory layer that everyone loves!
  • 1 fresh parsley, chopped Optional, for garnish.

Preparation

  • Prepare the Beef Base: In your slow cooker, combine the beef stew meat, diced onion, and minced garlic.
  • Mix the Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, heavy cream, dried basil, and dried oregano. Pour this mixture over the beef, stirring gently to coat.

Cooking

  • Cook Low and Slow: Cover the slow cooker and let it cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Cook the Pasta: About 30 minutes before serving, cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set it aside.
  • Combine and Season: Stir the cooked pasta into the slow cooker along with grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as preferred.
  • Finish Cooking: Allow to cook for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve: Dish up the creamy pasta, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and enjoy.

Notes

For perfect results, opt for a marbled cut of beef and consider half and half instead of heavy cream for added richness. Garlic bread and a fresh green salad make excellent sides.
