Preparation

  • Thinly slice your onions.
  • Soak the sliced onions in water for about 10 minutes to mellow out the strong flavor.
  • After soaking, drain the onions and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, toss the dried onions with flour, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket with oil.
  • Spread the seasoned onion slices in a single layer in the basket.
  • Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Once the onions turn golden brown, let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make sure the onions are well dried after soaking to avoid sogginess. For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or paprika to the flour mixture. Keep an eye on the onions as cooking times may vary based on the air fryer.
