  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Sharp cheddar is great for bold flavor; mozzarella or pepper jack can add a kick.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Whole wheat breadcrumbs add a healthier twist, but regular works just as well.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Enhances depth of flavor; more can be added if desired.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder; for vegan option, use a flax egg.
  • to taste salt and pepper Important for flavor enhancement.
  • as needed cooking spray Helps with browning and crisping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Chop the broccoli florets or pulse in a food processor until finely chopped.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped broccoli, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • Scoop the mixture and roll into small balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Place the formed bites into the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

Cooking

  • Set the timer for 10-12 minutes. Check them halfway through and shake the basket for even cooking.
  • Once done, let the bites cool for a few minutes before transferring to a serving plate.

Notes

For a twist, add finely chopped onions or garlic powder. Serve with ranch or marinara dip.
