  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or crushed Ritz crackers) Panko gives a crunchier texture.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp melted butter Drizzle over chicken before baking.
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish Adds color and fresh flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Spread sour cream over each breast to coat.

Baking

  • Mix together the cheddar cheese and panko breadcrumbs. Press this mixture onto the sour cream-coated chicken until well covered.
  • Place the chicken in the greased baking dish and drizzle melted butter over the tops.
  • Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot. Pairs well with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the chicken cool and place it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. To enhance flavor, consider adding herbs or spices into the breadcrumb mixture.
