Ingredients
  

For the Beef

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch for coating
  • Oil for frying ensure the oil is hot enough for crispiness

For the Sauce

  • 1 red chili, sliced adjust amount for heat preference
  • 1 yellow chili, sliced adjust amount for heat preference
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish add extra for a fresh touch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Toss beef strips in cornstarch until evenly coated. Let sit for 5–10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry beef in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • In a clean pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  • Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chili sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Simmer until thick.
  • Add sliced chilies and return beef to the pan. Toss to coat.

Serving

  • Garnish with torn cilantro and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

You can change up this dish by adding different vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli. For a different flavor, try using sesame oil instead of regular oil for frying.
