Ingredients
  

For the fish

  • 2 fillets white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or pollock)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko Panko gives extra crunch.
  • to taste Salt & pepper
  • as needed oil Vegetable oil (for frying)

For assembly

  • 2 pieces sesame burger buns
  • 1/3 cup tartar sauce
  • to taste Optional: chopped parsley or pickles For extra flavor.

Preparation

  • Pat the fish dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the fillets in flour, dip them in the beaten egg, then coat them in breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the fish for about 3–4 minutes on each side until they are golden and cooked through.
  • Lightly toast the burger buns for a crispy texture.

Assembly

  • Spread tartar sauce on both sides of the buns.
  • Place a crispy fish fillet on the bottom half and top with more sauce or optional toppings like chopped parsley or pickles.

Serving

  • Enjoy your crispy sandwich hot, paired with fries, slaw, or a fresh side dish.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture. You can experiment with different types of fish to find your favorite. For extra crunch, try using panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs. Don’t forget to keep the sandwich hot and fresh to enjoy the best flavors.
