  • 1 teaspoon Salt Kosher salt recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Freshly cracked black pepper.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Adds depth and aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder Provides an onion flavor without slicing.

  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste Adds richness; optional.
  • 1 cup Fresh herbs Add herbs like rosemary or parsley in the last 30 minutes.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Plug in your crockpot to prepare it for use.
  • Add ground beef to the crockpot, breaking it apart as you go.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder over the meat.
  • Mix the spices into the beef thoroughly with a spatula or wooden spoon.

Cooking

  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Every hour, stir gently to break up clumps and evenly distribute flavors.
  • Check for doneness about 30 minutes before serving; the meat should be browned and cooked through.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary before serving.
  • Let cool slightly before portioning into freezer bags and label with dates.

Serving Suggestions

  • Use the beef in casseroles, stuffed peppers, soups, or serve over pasta.
  • Great for tacos; load it into shells with toppings.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days. Reheat gently with a splash of broth or water to keep moist. Customize seasoning and use ground turkey as a lighter option.
