Preparation

  • Slice the cabbage into thin strips.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.

Cooking

  • Add the cabbage to the skillet, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  • If desired, add vinegar and sugar for extra flavor.

Serving

  • Serve hot as a side dish.

Notes

For more flavor, consider adding spices like cumin or paprika. You can also add other vegetables or cooked bacon for variety. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
