Pasta and Vegetables

  • 12 ounces Cellentani pasta This unique twisty shape holds onto the sauce beautifully.
  • 1 cup Dill pickles, chopped The star of the show with a tangy and crunchy texture.
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese, chopped Adds a rich, creamy element.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh dill, chopped Enhances the flavor of the salad.

Creamy Dressing

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise The creamy base for the dressing.
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream Adds extra creaminess and tang.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the cellentani pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • While the pasta is cooking, chop the dill pickles and sharp cheddar cheese into bite-sized pieces.
  • Once the pasta is finished cooking, drain it and rinse under cold water.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, chopped dill pickles, sharp cheddar cheese, and fresh dill, then toss gently.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
  • Pour the creamy dressing over the pasta salad mixture, and toss to coat evenly.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • When ready to serve, taste and adjust seasoning with more pickles or salt if needed.

Notes

For a tangier flavor, mix in some dill pickle juice with the dressing. It's also great as a make-ahead dish because the flavors improve after sitting.
