Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter Melted
  • 7 grams baker's yeast Active
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup milk Warm
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix the warm milk with the yeast in a bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it foams.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix well until a dough forms, then knead for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for about an hour until it doubles in size.

Shaping and Frying

  • Roll the dough out to about 1.5 cm thick and cut out doughnut shapes with a cutter.
  • Let the doughnuts rise again for about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a fryer and fry the doughnuts until golden brown.
  • Let them drain on paper towels and dust them with sugar or glaze as desired.

Notes

Ensure the milk is warm but not too hot as it can kill the yeast. Knead the dough until it’s smooth for a fluffy texture. Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding.
