  • 3 large eggs Essential for binding and adding moisture.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Keeps the cake moist and fluffy.
  • 1 cup water Helps combine the dry ingredients for a smooth batter.

Cream Cheese Mixture

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Creates beautiful swirls and adds creaminess.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sweetens the cream cheese mixture.

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded coconut Adds chewiness and tropical flavor.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Provides a lovely crunch and richness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Making the Cake

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish.

Preparing the Cream Cheese Swirls

  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter and swirl it through with a knife.

Adding Toppings

  • Sprinkle the shredded coconut and chopped pecans on top of the batter.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the cake to cool in the baking dish before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes
