  • 3 ripe bananas Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg Can be substituted with flaxseed meal or applesauce.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Baking Banana Bread

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  • Stir in the melted butter.
  • Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  • Finally, add the flour and mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can serve warm or at room temperature. Spread with butter or cream cheese for extra flavor. For storage, wrap in plastic wrap or foil and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
