  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Provides creamy texture.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Helps keep chicken moist.
  • to taste salt and pepper Basic seasonings.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts directly into the bottom of your crockpot.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup with the ranch dressing mix and the chicken broth. Stir until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the top to taste.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Check the chicken for doneness; it should be tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces using two forks.
  • Stir everything together to thicken the sauce around the chicken.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary.
  • Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken in ranch dressing overnight, add carrots or potatoes for nutrition, and use fresh herbs like parsley for flavor. If making leftovers, store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
